Dog sitting up

FAQs

  • Are you licensed and insured?
Yes! We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the State of California. We are certified through PSI (Pet Sitters International) and insured through Small Business Insurers of the Carolinas. Feel free to ask about our insurance coverage during your meet and greet. Full licensing, insurance, and bonding information is available upon request.
  • Do you accept all breeds?
Yes, we do. We welcome all dog breeds, provided they are not aggressive towards us. The meet and greet helps ensure we are a good fit for your dog.
  • Where in Sacramento do you service?
Our team offers dog walking and pet sitting in Natomas, Woodland , Davis, Midtown, East & West Sac, Greenhaven, Pocket, and Land Park. Please keep in mind that our radius varies by service, so feel free to contact us for more coverage details.
  • How does scheduling and payment work?
You can request, pay for services, message with our team, and update your records all on the Time to Pet mobile app. Apple / Android
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations for single dog walks or drop-in visits made at least 24 hours in advance will not incur a fee. If we arrive for a scheduled service that is no longer needed, a 50% fee will apply. For overnight stays or multi-day bookings, cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled start time will incur a 35% cancellation fee.
  • When is payment due and what is your policy?
Services are not confirmed until full payment has been submitted. All clients are automatically enrolled in AutoPay, which charges the card on file at 11 PM on the day we approve the request. Clients may opt out of AutoPay, but they will be responsible for manually submitting payment upon approval to secure their booking.
  • Do you offer holiday services?
Yes, but these should be discussed and requested weeks in advance. We strive to accommodate all requests and will always be transparent about our availability.
  • Do you charge extra fees or higher rates for services on holidays?
No, we do not! We pride ourselves on being fully transparent about our pricing. You’ll never encounter hidden fees or increased rates for services that fall on or during holidays. Our rates remain the same year-round, so you can book with confidence knowing exactly what to expect.
  • Will I meet the sitter before the service starts?
Yes, we offer a complimentary meet and greet to introduce you to your sitter and review your client profile before the service begins. If we need to introduce a new or backup sitter, we will notify you in advance.
  • Will my sitter arrive at the same time each visit?
We ask you to choose a 2-hour arrival window to account for traffic, weather, last-minute requests, and other unpredictable events. For example, if the app shows your visit scheduled for 12pm, we will arrive sometime between 11am and 1pm. If you have a pet with special or medical needs, please note this when scheduling, and we will do our best to guarantee a tighter window. We aim to accommodate your preferred times, though exact arrival times may vary.
  • Will I have the same walker/sitter every visit?
Yes, we assign you a dedicated sitter who will be your primary contact. If your dedicated sitter is unavailable, we will notify you and arrange for an alternate sitter. In the event an alternate sitter is needed, we will set up a shadow walk where the alternate sitter joins your dedicated sitter to ensure a smooth transition.
  • I have multiple dogs or cats that need care, is that okay?
Of course! We charge an additional $5 per pet for each pet beyond the first two, which are included in the base price.
  • Will my dog walk or interact with other dogs?
Our number one priority is safety, which is why we firmly believe in avoiding interactions with other dogs, including dog parks. These environments can lead to unpredictable situations, aggression, or dangerous outcomes. You can trust that your dog will be advocated for and kept safe with us.
  • I’m not sure what my pet needs, what do I choose?
Every pet and family is unique, which is why all of our services are customizable! Don’t see what you’re looking for? Feel free to contact us to let us know what you're thinking, and odds are we can make it happen.
  • Will you need a key to my house?
We require two sets of working keys unless there is a lockbox or digital access (e.g., garage door opener, keypad lock). One set is for your dedicated sitter, and the other is kept in a safe lockbox for emergencies. Keys should be provided at the meet and greet, or we can arrange to pick them up before the first visit.
